What the …?

Wtf ? Pixar sponsored Devil’s Pie creator to change the configuration method from XML files to Lisp ? What is this world coming to ?!

Hah…just joking. Actually it’s configuration method is rather nice, but a GUI would not be a bad idea.

    The format change was just a side effect. Pixar sponsored an entire re-write so that it would do what they wanted, which was logical operations for more powerful matchers. The XML format didn’t have support for logical operations and adding those would have made it an unmaintainable tag mess. We agreed that using s-expressions would result in far cleaner and maintainable scripts.

    Nice to know there was a logical explanation behind it. Can you tell me if there are any plans to a configuration GUI or further integration of devil’s pie into Gnome ? According to that interview with Waugh, it doesn’t seem like it, but it would be nice.
