Social Bookmarking
I’ve never really given much attention to social bookmarking websites, but now that i’m not using my laptop as a laptop anymore (due to some aging problems), i’m really feeling the need to access my bookmarks anywhere, so i had to give these services a try.
I’ve had an account on ma.gnolia.com for ages, but i never used it. So i decided to try out ma.gnolia.com and del.icio.us. For some reason (maybe because it’s preetier and newer…i know, i’m so easy to fool) i initially preferred ma.gnolia.com. But after i tried the initial bookmarks import from Firefox my opinion changed rapidly. del.icio.us imported them in under 5 minutes. ma.gnolia.com…well…when i woke up the next day, the thing was finished.
And then i tought i’d read a little bit on the subject and my suspicions were right. Also, the “tag intersection” referred on that same article is something i’m interested on, given the way i had my bookmarks organized on Firefox with directories and subdirectories. Honestly, i prefer that to the more social aspects of ma.gnolia.com. Altough this is now all about the social web, i’m not that social (and more social stuff means more time fiddling with it and less productivity…you know what i mean).
That said, del.icio.us is the thing for me, so i’m giving it a try during the next few days.

Why not considering to use one of the portuguese services?
You have SAPO tags, os.marcant.es, fa.voritos and so on…

I really like using blogmarks.net.
It has private bookmarking concept (I think del.icio.us already has it too).

Thanks for checking Ma.gnolia out, anyway. We know we’re not for everyone, and wish you well.
