Sony Vaio VGN-CR21 S
Like I said in my previous post, I bought a new laptop. And no, it’s not one of those fruit laptops. It’s a white Sony Vaio :p
Of course I installed Ubuntu on it right away, and I actually thought most things would work out of the box here, according to someone on Ubuntu Forums, but looks like the guy was wrong.
Wifi worked out of the box. But sound and suspend/hibernate didn’t. I already solved those two issues (installing a more recent kernel) but lost the wifi configuration in the way and I have lots of work to do today so I won’t be fiddling with that until tomorrow. I’m compiling a list of all the issues and how to solve them and will post them later on a Ubuntu Forums thread related to this model (which I’ll link to later).
A post on why I chose this laptop and not a Macbook (which was in fact my other option) will come later.

E as teclas de page down/page up ? luminosidade ? suspend ?

O page up/down e home end funcionam com o Fn (como os macs :p). As teclas de luminosidade n??o funcionam mas tamb??m ainda n??o andei de volta disso. Estou a usar a applet do gnome.
O suspend/hibernate, como disse no post, passaram a funcionar perfeitamente depois de ter instalado o 2.6.23. O Ubuntu Gutsy tr??s o 2.6.22 e ao que parece algumas features desta plataforma ainda n??o s??o bem suportadas nessa vers??o. S?? me falta mesmo recompilar os drivers do wireless mas como hoje estou cheio de trabalho ainda n??o tive tempo para isso (viva os cabos).
Depois vou colocar tudo na tal thread dos f??rums e talvez abrir uma p??gina na minha wiki pessoal com todos esses issues.
?? o que d?? comprar coisas muito recentes :p

Yup, perfeitamente. E no power management no gnome, defino os niveis de luminosidade para quando esta a funcionar com bateria e faz tudo isso na boa.

Nope. Estou a adorar. Muitos colegas meus hoje quando me viam com o port??til “ah e tal esse teclado…” mas eu sinceramente estou a adorar. ?? como o do Macbook mas as teclas s??o mais definidas, por isso tecla-se muito bem. A ??nica coisa que me faz imensa confus??o ?? ter de carregar no Fn para fazer o Page Up/Down e o Home/end, o que para um gajo como eu que vive a base de atalhos de teclado faz imensa diferen??a.
