I’m still here

September 19th, 2007

I know I haven’t been active around here, but hopefully things will change and I’ll get back to some more or less regular blogging, even knowing that my life will get a lot more busy in the next few weeks. Classes will start again next week and I’ll probably have something more to occupy my time. More on that…some other day.

In other news, I think I’m developing a bit of RSI on my left wrist (that damned ctrl+alt shortcut) which will probably go away if I change the way I use my fingers for certain keyboard shortcuts. It’s silly how stupid little things can ruin your health. And yes, I’m aware of RSI, I changed some of my habits before it was too late and I even use workrave. I guess all of that wasn’t enough.

Now what the hell is all this talk about forking Linux, just because Con gave up ? First of all, this is already old news and was probably discussed to death already. In second place, I’m not saying Con didn’t do a great job with all his desktop oriented patches (and as a Linux user I thank him very much), but he’s not the only one pushing forward desktop Linux, and most of the needed efforts for Linux to become desktop ready are not to be done at a kernel level. Even if you have the greatest and fastest engine in the world, that doesn’t mean you can win a race.

So get over these stupid discussions and move on already.

Late night rant over.

Update:
Oh me lads, did I mention what day it be today ? Yarrrrrrr ! Shiver me timbers !

Update 2:
Mental note: don’t post when you’re almost asleep.
